We didn’t stop at Brighton Beach but did spend time at nearby Tunnel Beach. I miss New Zealand’s great kelp.

I can see why, Liz! Nothing like the lure of moving water.

Looks like you had a lovely day at the beach. The photos make me want to go for a paddle there! 🙂 (I’m looking forward to getting back to the beaches here in summer and these have reminded me that we’ll be able to do that. Yay!)

After a while of not being there one gets a real yearning to be back at the beach!

I’m feeling that yearning very strongly – though it would need to be decent weather too! (Lots of rain here!)

Still very rainy? you must’ve had a lot of rain! That gets tiresome pretty quickly.

We get very little rain in summer (most years) but then in late autumn or winter we can get a lot – I think it’s part of global warming. (We rarely get snow nowadays.) It does make it difficult in the garden because a lot of the plants that are happy in our hot, dry summers don’t like the winter wet. I’m looking forward to some dry weather – luckily forecast in a day or two…

With those bladders as eyes it almost looks like a lobster or crab.
