EMERGENCE

Beauty awakened

finding its form

Brand new wings

for a nymph reborn

I wrote the poem especially to accompany this beautiful image taken by Pete Hillman of a newly emerged Large Red Damselfly.

Caption: Large Red Damselfly (Pyrrhosoma nymphula) teneral, rear garden, Staffordshire, England. May 2017.

It is taken from Pete’s post titled Emergence II

Pete’s blog Pete Hillman’s Nature Photography has many great photos of wildlife, mainly taken around his home in Staffordshire, UK.

Image used with permission.
