Directions at Bluff

Ever since Candice at This Made Me Smile Today posted a bison weather vane I've been hankering to contribute my own weather vane to Weather Vane Wednesday. My problem was to find a weather vane! When we were at the port town of Bluff on Sunday I looked up at the art deco Foveaux Hotel... Continue Reading →

Two Boats at Bluff

On Sunday when we were at Bluff I found these two boats at the wharf, near the ship Matuku (part of which you can see in the background at the far left). I just liked them; one red-and-white and the other blue-and-white. I also liked the water between them with weedy ropes under the surface.... Continue Reading →

It looked wonderful from the outside and later we went inside and relaxed in the cafe where the manager (Bridget) made us very welcome. Its only dawned on me as I write this that the bright... Art Deco Beauties in Bluff (1)

Art Deco beauties in Bluff? You bet! This little fishing community down south, port town for Southland, has some fabulous art deco commercial buildings in the main street and they're beauties! The colour scheme is 'interesting' but that's as it should be in this port town. Never a dull moment! We visited Bluff on Tues... Continue Reading →

A couple more photos from Stirling Point and then I move on to Bluff Harbour and its entrance. I wanted to give you an idea of the overall setting of the Bluff Township before showing you some of the interesting buildings in the town (including some attractive art deco examples).
