Flowers and Foliage

These four photos are the last from a folder of images that I took on 28 October. It was a gorgeous afternoon and I really enjoyed my beautiful spring walk! ~ Tapanui, West Otago, New Zealand.

Poppies, pansies, peonies, and phlomis! All of these were blooming in marvellous fashion at Alexandra's public garden when we visited on my birthday 31 October. In addition to the marvellous irises I've already shared. Central Otago, New Zealand.

Lovely Lilac

Driving through East Roxburgh yesterday I spotted lots of lovely lilac flowers.. a whole hedge! so I asked Nigel to turn around. We were both glad we went back, it was a lovely spot and nice standing near to the flowery hedge. Brightest time of day though, difficult to get nice shots. Central Otago, New... Continue Reading →

Bountiful Blossom

Spring blossom is a wonderful blessing, especially after the bareness of winter. Just as well I did my little photo trip up our street on Friday though; now it's set in rather wintry again! But I have my photos, and flowers in vases, so all is good. The first photo below is the church blossom... Continue Reading →

Now at 1.00pm the strange glow has vanished but it's still very smoky toward the Blue Mountains and when we go outside the smell of bushfire smoke is instantly... Continue Reading →

South of Taieri Mouth

We'd left Taieri Mouth, driving along south coast when we found this tidy verge and pine hedge with view to sea (left). Assuming farmer looks after this. Nigel 08 Dec.

Clyde Spring Gardens

We were in Clyde on Nov 27, 2019 and had a walk around some of the residential area, enjoying the home gardens. Roses, peonies and lavender were much in evidence. Although we've grown green-flowered lavender ourselves in the past I think the lavender below is only green because the flower buds are immature. Clyde, Central... Continue Reading →
