From yesterday's local walk along the highway, Pyracantha berries, a dazzling show of colour. Autumn in New Zealand. Tapanui, West Otago.
We're nearly at the end of the first month of autumn in New Zealand. This troop of red hot pokers are by a highway near home and I don't see them very often. Found these beautiful purple berries at Dunedin Botanic Garden, New Zealand on 05 March 2021 but at present we've no idea what the plants are. Just looking at them, we both guessed they might be an Australian species. Photos by Nigel.
