Beautiful weather today, Sunday in New Zealand. We paid a return visit to the historic Black Horse Brewery daffodils at Weatherstons, near Lawrence in the Clutha district, Otago.

Hart’s Black Horse Brewery closed in 1923 and little but ruins remain today but.. there's daffodils! Starting in 1895, the Hart family planted thousands of specially-imported daffodil bulbs. Robust buds and blooms on this Magnolia tree in Gore Gardens, 18 September 2022. Very messy form, but magnificent magenta blooms - a real stand-out in the early Spring garden. A real bright spark!
