***Update, 19 Oct. Correction: the striped field of tulips below was alongside a different road, a short drive away.. it was the first field of tulips that we found.

I’ve envisioned the cows from your previous post wandering through here—probably not allowed but would be a pretty picture. 🤣

Haha.. that would make a very pretty picture but cows are heavy and I imagine they’d damage the precious bulbs with their hooves!

Oh, yes they wood. My dad raised beef cows for awhile when I was growing up, and their escapes caused more than a few $ damage to neighbors’ gardens. Cows’ nosiness is much more intense than their intellect would suggest 🤣. And their ability to follow their noses to tasty crops.

I had no idea that tulips are commercially grown in NZ. Those fields are glorious. Do that many tulips produce a scent?

I’ve never noticed any scent when taking photographs from the roadside.

I never noticed scent from ours, either, but of course a couple of dozen in a garden might not be enough. Now that I think of it, I’ve never heard of a perfume that’s tulip-scented, either.
