The only non-feral pigeons I’ve come across were homing pigeons that a guy let go next to me when I was photographing a sunrise in New Salem. He said they would beat him home. I saw him another time there and sure enough, they al got home before he did. Most every other pigeon just leaves a mess behind. Fortunately we do not have them in our neighborhood. We do have mourning doves which are related but they are bullies, not mess makers. 🙂
They can really be so pretty, can’t they?

Easier to appreciate their beauty when they’re alone like this one was. The beauty gets lost in a mob!

Kind of attractive for such a dirty bird.

I’m no pigeon-fancier, not of ferals anyway, but this one was an exception! On its own, calm, and rather cute! 😀

We have beautiful native wood pigeons that are a delight and I love those, hence the distinction.

Looks just like the pigeons we have here. They seem to have colonized the world.
