We were nearing the end of our visit to Maple Glen Garden on Easter Sunday when I spotted the prettiest turkey I’ve ever seen and wandered over to take photos. There were two turkeys on the grass by a little woodland and a few chooks and guinea fowl within the woodland. The turkeys tolerated my presence for a short while and then rejoined their pals. How unusual, and such a pretty color scheme.

Yes. Never seen turkeys this colour before!

They are pretty feathers. The wild ones I see around here are black & rusty brown, kind of handsome in a way, but pretty somber-looking.

The turkeys that hang around on farms here, kinda semi-wild, are as you describe. These must be some special kind I think!

They’re very different from the turkeys you would see on farms over here – and very different habitat too.

Yes, different to what we see on farms here too! These must be a special kind. The Maple Glen family like their birds and they have an extensive aviary.
