Seen this angel from afar many times, down a side road as we’ve driven by. Yesterday we stopped to visit, she is so sweet and serene! Waipahi cemetery, Clutha District, New Zealand. Photos taken by Liz.
This little cemetery sits in peaceful rural countryside, and still in use.

Oh, what a lovely angel. The deceased must have been dearly loved.

She’s beautiful, and I’m so glad she hasn’t been vandalized like some of the lovely monuments in our oldest cemetery.

I love her.. maybe my favourite angel ever! Vandalism of old memorials would be very rare here – as far as I know. Sad that it happens sometimes in your area (sigh).

What a lovely expression. One wonders what lengths the family must have had to go to in order to procure her.

Yes, we also wondered about that!

Such a gentle angel, Liz. I can’t help but think of the angels that appear in the the Bible–quite often the first words they speak are, “Do not be afraid.” They must have been a little more terrifying than the one that you photographed.
