Little Lemon Rose

Found this gorgeous early rose loaded with cute little lemon-coloured blooms in the Jessie Calder Garden (old roses), Queens Park, Invercargill on 17 October 2020. This was the only rose making an impact, others had barely started. Southland, New Zealand.

  1. Another supporting ;argument for getting your foot in the door early–and keeping it there. And, yes, it looks like it would not be the most comfortable place to sit and meditate.

    1. The rose is massive and you almost feel like it feels too ‘crowded’ to sit on the bench! It’s very pretty overall, the bench is a lemon colour although that may not be noticeable in the photos – the light was very bright at the time!

      1. Sounds really delightful! You did well to capture the colour of the roses – bright light is likely to wash it out and yellow can be difficult anyway.

  2. I love your little yellow rose, Liz, and your choice to present the images the way that you did. It was cool to move gradually from a close-up view to more and more distant views. That is a huge rose bush.
