Landing in Daffodils

Today was a beautiful day to see daffodils at the historic Weatherstons Brewery ruins near Lawrence. Sadly a lady slipped on the daffodil hillside and badly fractured her ankle so the Rescue Helicopter arrived to collect her. New Zealand. Click on the photo to enlarge.

  1. There’s a daffodil garden about three hours north of me that I’ve tried to visit three years in a row. Unfortunately, too much rain has kept the roads impassable three years in a row — maybe next spring will work.

An ankle fracture’s no fun. My mother broke hers in two places and it took five months to heal — but it did heal, and she was nearly 80 when it happened. Here’s the (now) amusing detail. She’d come for a visit in early January, broke her ankle, and was with me until May. We both had a lot of adjusting to do!
