We were out driving this afternoon and found this cool guy busy working at the front of his property, near the mailbox. He’s a fair dinkum kiwi ’cause he’s wearing his Red Band gumboots! Waitahuna, near Lawrence. Clutha District, New Zealand.

While I was taking photos, Nigel sneakily took photos of me from the car..

You’re looking fair-dinkum Kiwi yourself, but where are your red-band gumboots?

LOL. I’ve got a pair of grunty-looking gumboots (men’s) but not Red Bands. Nigel’s got Red Bands though!

What a wonderful, cheerful way to revive this old farm implement.

Cute, I love lawn art like that! And Nigel’s sneaky pic is fun—nice to have photos of each other out and about.

I had to head to the dictionary to find out that dinkum (which is often preceded by fair) means ‘ genuine, honest, true’.

Here’s a really interesting background that I’ve only just found after reading your comment.. https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/fair-dinkum.html

Someone made something interesting out of a pile of junk. While a very different concept it reminds me of this exhibit in a museum. It totally boggles my mind that someone had the vision and talent to create this and the plural hints that he has done many. Yours can be enjoyed from every angle. 🙂

That was our Sunday afternoon drive (rainy day drive actually). Enjoy the rest of your Sunday afternoon Mike – I’m now 7.51am Monday!

Yikes. I forget that there is such a big time difference. Sunday is most often a day of relaxation for me after my church services are done for the day.
