“Rejoice” for World Watercolor Month 2020 – 01 July. Watercolour by Liz. Only the 2nd watercolour I’ve done! Inspired to participate byMike Powell who tweeted a joyful bird.
Yeah, I landed there first too. At the originator’s website there’s a gallery of the paintings that are being done – I think a bot must facilitate immediate display via tracing of the hashtag. Very soon after I’d tweeted mine it was up on the gallery … quite neat really! Gallery link: https://doodlewash.com/world-watercolor-month-gallery/
Thanks for the encouragement Ann! As an aside I just saw this tweet and thought I’d mention it: “V. troubled to see Scottish Gaelic at risk of dying out as a community language within 10 yrs.” I’ve DMed it to you on Twitter – appears to be a BBC article (which I don’t have time to read right now).
It would be sad for Gaelic to die out but not very surprising – not many people on mainland Scotland speak it. I can remember being about 40 miles west of my home and hearing some older folk speaking Gaelic. I felt as if I was in a foreign county. (That was almost 40 years ago!) Enjoy your painting! 🙂
Wow! Joyful, fun and creative Liz! Well done!! And I must admit that I agree with Mike, I would for sure not have courage enough to even try to paint a cow 😀
Wow, Liz. I love it. I’m not sure that I would have the courage to attempt to paint a cow–the moon would be more my speed–and I love your blue-eyed dish running away with the spoon. I’m rejoicing that you joined in the fun. We both know that we have the supplies and maybe we can help to motivate each other to use them more often.
It’s great to have you as a watercolour /watercolor buddy Mike! I was going to attempt a thistle flower for ‘texture’ today but Nigel got a bad tooth last night and now I’m unsure what the day will bring – maybe a 2-hour trip (each way) to Dunedin. Painting unlikely to happen I think.
Thanks for the smiles!

I’ve never heard of World Watercolor Month. What I found at
https://nationaldaycalendar.com/world-water-color-month-july/
indicates a recent origin, 2016.
