Lilliput Library to be exact. Yesterday I needed to walk from home, right through the town of Tapanui, and then go further up the street and round the bend to get to the house that was my destination. And on the way I knew I’d pass the new Lilliput Library that I’ve spotted recently when we’ve driven by. I had plenty of time so I stopped to take a few photos for my blog. Tapanui, West Otago, New Zealand.

Like those that Steve mentioned above, we also have quite a large number of the Little Free Libraries scattered about. Most are in front of people’s homes but some are also located in front of buildings in towns. We’ve only used one once, taking a couple and leaving a couple.

The neighbor two houses down the street from us has one of these book boxes at the curb. I just discovered that at
https://littlefreelibrary.org/ourmap/
you can search for these Little Free Libraries all over the world. By choosing to search by postal code I found ten of these mini libraries in my zip code of 78759. When I searched by country and put in New Zealand, I got what seemed to be 23 hits. Clicking on any of the red “teardrops” gives the specific address of the box.

That is so lovely and happy – it makes me smile to see it and to think of someone taking the time to create it… 🙂 (And a great way to recycle books!)
