Without question this is the best boutique cafe that we’ve ever been to. Robin Stock the owner has been in New Zealand for over 20 years, well-travelled (has been a mural painter) and hails from London/Sussex (UK). This tiny cafe is in North Oamaru and Robin offers a hearty welcome, banter, and delicious food and drinks. Oamaru, New Zealand

What a fun place, Liz! Your beverage was a work of art and the entire menu looked worthy of trying. The robins are a nice bonus.

All of those birdies are adorable. They look like a neat combination of cardinals and robins: two of my favorite birds. I liked the “Make cake, not war” slogan — and do you see what’s in the glass jar near the Statue of Liberty poster? It looks like pink and white marshmallows to me!

Hi Linda.. you’re absolutely right. It’s customary here for two marshmallows to be served with a hot chocolate drink. I always ask for two white ones as I’m not keen on the taste of the pink ones 🙂

So cute! I love the red robin’s inclusion on the Statue of Liberty. There is an American chain of restaurants named Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews, mostly known as just Red Robin. The original one in Seattle, Washington began as a place called Sam’s Tavern. Sam was part of a barbershop quartet and often sang the song “When the Red, Red Robin” to his customers. He like the song so much that he changed the name to Sam’s Red Robin. Sam’s was dropped from the name when the original was sold and enlarged in 1969. There are now many franchises all over the states and a few in Canada. There is one nearby, great burgers but the brews are not coffee! I would definitely visit your RedRobin Cafe…often! I feel that I must share another of my wooden signs : Procaffeinating (n.) the tendency not to start anything until you’ve had a cup of coffee. Thank-you!

“Procaffeinating” hahahaha 🙂 Thank goodness I don’t have a coffee in hand – I would have sprayed it everywhere 🙂 🙂

Interesting.. Nigel had quesadillas and greatly enjoyed his meal. I’m 100% confident that both of you would love this cafe / coffee bar!
