The Frost Pot

The Frost Pot is a new food shop in Roxburgh that we visited on a whim as we travelled through the town yesterday, it’s only been open for seven weeks. Once inside I found delicious ice-cream offerings including gelato and sorbet. Despite the cold autumn afternoon I decided to try a couple of flavours and chose blackcurrant and coconut gelato topped with NZ Berry Fusion sorbet. YUM! Really, really YUM!

FYI, frost pots are one means used by orchards for frost-fighting. Central Otago is a region with many orchards and vineyards.

These colours are a dream and the taste was divine. The NZ Berry Fusion sorbet on top includes five berry fruits.. strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, boysenberries and blueberries.

View down the street toward the distant yellow poplars. They were looking golden in a shaft of sunshine but as soon as I hopped out of the car to take the photo, the sunshine disappeared!

    1. Exactly! I’d had no intention at all of eating ice-cream but couldn’t resist those chilly charms.. glad I succumbed! Haha. Nice place and I’ll be doing another post as Nigel took nice photos.
