Out on a country drive we saw this rustic red barn in farmland near Tapanui, Southland, New Zealand. Taken by Liz 20 Oct 2018. *Click on photo to enlarge*
I feel the same way Robert. Thinking about it, I wonder if its because it marks the passage of time. Dairy Living aka Carol, pondered “..if only it could talk. The stories it would tell.”
The roof lines are unusual for an old barn here. Barns and farm sheds in NZ are usually very simple. This region seems to have some interesting examples, which is exciting. We saw another one a couple of days ago that was most unusual and I’ll post about it some time soon.
Who understands why, but I find the faded old paint to be very pleasing.

I had wondered about that turned down end and if the other end was the same. I look forward to seeing more!
