After my adventures in rabbit-land I was keen to get back to the village. I found myself up against a locked gate and was obliged to clamber over a rail fence. A few steps more and I saw this brightly coloured and appropriately themed utility box. I was quite tired at this point and reluctant to take more photos but …
I crossed the road and stood by the Bannockburn Hotel, looking down at the view. There’s a road that you can see just down the slope. Along that road are lots of vineyards, some of which you can see in the photo. The last of the sun rays were catching the golden trees in the far distance.
By this time Nigel had turned up and we decided to retire to the hotel for refreshments. We had a light dinner and then departed. Very nice community feel here, lots of people trickled into the bar area and it was crowded and filled with the babble of conversation when we left. Nigel took this photo as we were leaving.

Glad you made it over the fence before nightfall, Liz! Very pretty scenes, especially those gold trees. Somehow I’ve missed your post about rabbit-land–intriguing–I’ll go back to that.

It was great timing because as I was taking photos of the utility box, Nigel arrived back into the village after his client visit. Happily I think we might be visiting this area again soon!

It will be neat to see more as the season progresses. Will there be snow over the winter?

Yes, there’ll be snow on the mountain ranges and at times snow all around. I think we’re supposed to get a mild start to winter so probably not a lot until July-Aug.
