Raised vege beds and caged cherry trees at Riverstone Kitchen, north of Oamaru. Taken by Nigel 09 Dec 2017. North Otago, New Zealand. Click on photo to enlarge.
The veges looked wonderful! From Dot’s book it looks as though they’re primarily aged compost from their dairy farms, a mix of cow manure, straw and sawdust. When we commented on how great it all looks Dot said “Imagine what I could have done if I had soil!”. (The site is basically just gravel and barren, an old riverbed).
I one day plan on doing something similar w/raised veg garden beds.

I love how they’re encouraging pollinators to visit by decorating the vege patch with potted flowers. 😀 Practical and pretty!

All very neat. I like that they added pots of flowers at the ends of the rows.
