We headed up the slope toward the house, leaving the wild side behind. New beauties captured my attention, mostly floral treasures that I’ll share with you below. [Note: this post continues on from yesterday’s exploration of the wild side at Hereweka Gardens, Otago Peninsula, Dunedin, New Zealand. Garden visited Sunday 29 Oct 2017]
I came across a little area which had various creamy-buff flowers. On one side was a magnolia and a rhododendron, on the other was a rather lovely rose.
Then I carried on up the path where new colours beckoned…
View to the local landmark Harbour Cone
I admired a lovely peony and bud
and found some pretty roses
Once again I delighted in the splendour of the wondrous tulips
PS. We drove to nearby Portobello and stopped at the Penguin Cafe for refreshments. I’d left my cellphone in the car but asked Nigel to take these photos of a greedy seagull on the other side of the glass
Portobello is right on the harbourside. Here’s the view from the cafe

What a pretty colour that first rhododendron is. We have the same problem with gulls, notorious at seaside towns for swooping down & attempting to steal a chip or too!

I’m glad you liked that rhodo! Gulls can be a nuisance all right, and also rather lovable rogues at the same time! The way they go off crook at each other is pretty entertaining at times 🙂
